Overview
~
~
AIDTES is an AI-powered platform designed to automate and standardize mass PCR test analysis.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, laboratories were required to process thousands of tests daily while maintaining high accuracy and fast turnaround times. Manual interpretation of qPCR data created bottlenecks, increased error rates, and limited scalability.
My role was to translate complex lab workflows into a clear, real-time digital system that supports fast, confident decision-making.
Challenge
~
~
Mass PCR testing relied heavily on manual data interpretation and spreadsheet-based workflows, resulting in:
– High cognitive load under volume pressure
– Inconsistent analysis and interpretation
– False positives and false negatives
– Long turnaround times
– Dependency on specialized and costly technicians

The system functioned — but it did not scale efficiently.
Users & Research

The primary users were lab operators processing thousands of samples daily under high time pressure. They manually interpreted amplification curves, managed Excel-based data, and made critical decisions that directly impacted clinical outcomes.
To understand their workflow, I conducted field research at AID Genomics’ mega lab — shadowing operators during live testing and collecting 24-hour activity journals.
The research revealed that the main bottleneck wasn’t the machines — it was manual decision-making within a fragmented system. High cognitive load and inconsistent interpretation increased error risk and slowed turnaround time.
Lab operators didn’t need more complexity.
They needed clarity, speed, and confidence.

Solution
~
~
The platform was designed to feel like real-time lab work translated into software — intuitive, structured, and easy to navigate under pressure.
– Color-coded well-plate preview for instant visual scanning
– Clear result states for fast identification
– AI-assisted analysis to standardize interpretation
– Manual override to maintain trust and human validation
– Centralized dashboard with filtering, search, and history logs

The system replaced fragmented Excel workflows with one cohesive interface that supports quick, informed decisions.
Branding & Marketing
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the team operated with limited development resources. This required close collaboration, clear prioritization, and the ability to multitask across product, brand, and communication needs.
Website Design
Although the solution was initially developed for a specific laboratory, it was later adopted at scale — expanding to laboratories across Israel and Europe.
